Privacy Policy

RipperFuel ("the App") is operated by Thengakola. This policy explains how we handle your information when you use the App.

Information We Collect

Location data: The App accesses your device's location to show nearby fuel stations and prices. Your location is used in real time on your device. It is not shared or stored on our servers.

Locally stored data: Vehicle details, logbook entries, and preferences you enter are stored locally on your device. This data is not transmitted to us.

Push notification token: If you enable price alerts, the App registers a device-specific push token with our servers and with Firebase Cloud Messaging so we can deliver notifications. The token is a random identifier issued by your device's operating system and cannot be used to identify you personally.

Subscription identifiers: If you start a free trial or paid subscription, our subscription provider (RevenueCat) issues an anonymous device-scoped identifier and records the purchase against it. We use this to grant access to paid features and to restore purchases. This data cannot be used to identify you personally.

Analytics and diagnostics: We collect anonymous, aggregated diagnostic data (such as crashes, errors, and feature usage) so we can monitor app health and fix bugs. This data cannot be used to identify you personally.

Information We Do Not Collect

• We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or other personally identifying information through the App.
• We do not sell, rent, or share any user data with third parties for advertising purposes.
• We do not track your location history.

Third-Party Services

The App relies on the following services, grouped by purpose. Each third party operates under its own privacy policy.

• Maps:
  • Apple Maps: Used on iOS to display maps and fuel station locations.
  • Google Maps: Used on Android to display maps and fuel station locations, and on both platforms to fetch driving directions for the "On the Way" feature. See Google's privacy policy.
• Push notifications: If you enable price alerts, your device's operating system issues an anonymous push token, which we use to deliver notifications. The token cannot be used to identify you personally.
  • Apple Push Notification service (APNs): Delivers push notifications on iOS. See Apple's privacy policy.
  • Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google): Delivers push notifications on Android. See Google's privacy policy.
• Subscriptions: If you start a free trial or paid subscription, payment is processed by the platform's app store and your subscription state is managed by our subscription provider. We do not receive your payment card details.
  • App Store (Apple): Processes subscription payments on iOS.
  • Google Play Billing: Processes subscription payments on Android.
  • RevenueCat: Manages subscription state across platforms. Receives an anonymous device-scoped identifier and purchase data. No personal information is shared. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.
• Grafana Cloud: Stores anonymous diagnostic and crash logs that help us monitor app health and fix bugs.
• Our servers: Used to register price alert subscriptions and deliver push notifications. They store only your alert preferences and push token, against the anonymous device identifier described above.
• Government fuel-check APIs: To retrieve real-time fuel price data. No personal information is sent in these requests.

Data Security

All network requests made by the App use HTTPS. Most data is stored locally on your device, so your device's built-in security features (passcode, encryption) help protect it.

Requesting Data Deletion

Most of your data is stored locally on your device, and uninstalling the App removes it. For data we hold on our servers (alert subscriptions, push token, and anonymous subscription records), you can request deletion by opening the App and using the Contact Us option in the More menu. This routes your request along with the anonymous identifier we need to locate and delete your records. We can't action deletion requests sent from outside the App because we have no other way to match a request to a specific user.

Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
